1. Those who wished to construct a mosque
  2. The People of the Cave
  3. This parable can also be found in Catholic, Orthodox, and Oriental Orthodox Christian tradition as a saint story, where it is commonly referred to as the Sleepers of the Cave or *The Seven Sleepers of Ephesus* in the Chalcedonian tradition specifically (widely, excluding most Protestant denominations). According to the latter account, the Seven Sleepers retreated into the cave during the reign of Roman Emperor Decius to avoid persecution, and re-emerged during the reign of Theodosius II, who reigned shortly after Theodosius I had adopted Nicene Christianity and made it the state religion of the Roman Empire following the Death of Julian the Apostate. The story ends with Theodosius commissioning a church over the cave, in which they were buried.
